Welcoming Ayman!

I know its a bit late! But better late than never.

Nazia delivered a healthy boy baby on March 6th at 1.23PM Indian Standard Time at Apollo First Med, Chennai.

The baby was weighing 3.10 Kgs at the time of delivery.

This time around, the delivery of the new baby was less dramatic compared to Ahyaan's delivery.

I guess we were experienced and we did know what to expect. Nazia really was prepared this time around. The doctor suggested that we go for a C-Section as the chances of a normal delivery were not high.

So it was planned and I got Nazia admitted on a Saturday (March 6th, 2010). In fact, I left Nazia alone in the hospital and had not returned until an hour before the operation.

Now, it was not my intention to leave Nazia alone. Lot of things were different this time around. We had Ahyaan with us. He was the center of our world and all our love and affection was towards him.

We were really worried about hinting Ahyaan that were going to spend a good deal of our time towards Ayman. So we had decided that I will spend a good deal of my time, during and after the delivery with Ahyaan, while Nazia will take care of Ayman.

So, coming back to the delivery, I came back with my Mom and my in-laws in the noon just before the operation.

I did experience the same kind of anxiety when Nazia entered the operation theater, as I had noticed during Ahyaan's delivery. But I was a bit more relaxed and I was really confident that things will be fine.

After few minutes, the sister came outside carry Ayman. It was a happy moment for all of us and especially for me and Nazia. Parents of two boys (two naughty boys.. our guess).

What was different in Ayman's case was that, I saw him immediately after the operation, unlike Ahyaan where they took him directly to the neo natal ward.

Also, Ayman was really looking like a new baby. Ahyaan wasn't looking the same, he was looking a bit mature.

By God's grace, everything went fine and has been fine until now.

We name our second baby "Syed Ayman". Ayman meaning Lucky.

We now have two stars in our world - Ahyaan and Ayman. We have plenty of fun-filled and happy moments ahead of us. Nazia and I are really looking forward to it :)

Getting ready to invite a new member! :)

While I have been very very lazy in updating my family blog, I din't want to miss writing the action associated with inviting a new member to our family.

That's right.. Nazia and myself are expecting our second kid :)

I guess its a matter of week and plus/minus few days and our second kid should have arrived in this world.

We are anxiously waiting to see our second kid and experience couple of more years of enjoying parenting a toddler. But more important, to enjoy see how well both our kids get along.

Ahyaan is 3.5 years old now and he is grown up enough to realize that he is expecting his younger sibling in couple of weeks/days. He has been excited as well.

We are trying to make sure we don't lose focus of Ahyaan while pampering this new born. Both are going to be equally important in our lives and we want both our kids to enjoy life and their time with us independently and at the same time we hope they also enjoy their time with each other as well.

Will post again as we make any significant progress :)

Fresh to School...

Inside Out: Ahyaan was excited about the new place...with many things to play around in the outdoor play area. He was observing the kids play and cry and roam around. He started exploring the place and wanted to play more with the beach sand and play set, when one of the teacher's had come to take all the kids in for the rhymes session. Moms had to accompany their kids there and i was beaming with pride ;-) but Mohasin had to stay back in the car:-)
In the Classroom: There he sat on the chair with his bag tightly held around his little arms and was gazing at the cartoons painted on the classroom wall. All of a sudden there was a big shriek n cry of the very smallest kiddo in the class and as expected all the other smiles waded too. They looked as if grief struck them and have been burdened by all sorrows of the world:-(
Slowly all calmed down and started to dance to the tunes of the rhymes. Interesting was when Ahu went to few kids and extended his hand for a cute HELLO, all by himself !!!
Back home: On our way home, he was describing to Mohasin on the things he saw and snacks he had. He was describing all this with his own chweet words and incomplete, struggled and formed sentences...may be all this would be difficult to hear in future when he grows up.
My baby's new beginning is all worth mentioning and sharing !!!

A New Beginning !!!

This is the first time i am blogging here ... though Mohasin expects me to blog on Ahyaan's growth and development phases :-)
I have a good update this time. Yes, Ahu is joining a play school tomorrow. I know he is too small (just 22 months) but he feels lonely at home with me away at work and none to play. I am curious to know as how his reaction would be, on watching other kids cry and hue :-(
For this week we would need to stay back with Ahu at his new school just to make him feel comfortable. Hope he gets used to this new life. Wish my dear baby a bright new future !!!

Happy B'day to my darling wife

Nazia is celebrating her birthday today. Nazia and myself had stayed back at my in-laws place yesterday. We (Nazia's family and myself) had surprised Nazia with a cake exactly at 12.00AM of Dec 6th, 2007. We sang the b'day song while Nazia cut the cake. I gave her two greeting cards (one of my behalf and the second on behalf of Ahu :)).

Nazia was tied up the whole day at office. In the evening, She took us all (her family and my family) for a dinner at a restaurant called Sea Shell here in Anna Nagar.

It was great and we had a great time.

After a very long time!!

Its been more than a year since I last posted any messages in this blog.

Was expecting Nazia to post something on this blog while I was procrastinating.

Things have changed so much after Ahu (its how we call Ahyaan at home).

Luckily, Nazia is maintaining Ahyaan's photos religiously in picasaweb. One set of photos is maintained in my picasaweb album and other set of photos are maintained in Nazia's google picasa album.

Ahyaan has become very naughty and keeps babbling a lot. He is walking (which is an understatement.. he is running) a lot nowadays and knows how to climb a chair or sofa.

Ahu's favorite songs are the ones from Disney's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cartoon show. He gives a broad smile and starts dancing tapping his feet on the ground.

Off late, I've become very busy and I am unable to spend time with him.

I want to capture all the sweet things that Ahu does on this blog. Hoping to regularly update my family blog. Lets see!!.

Finally!! here are the photos

Okay, so here are some of the first snaps that we took. By the way, we were prohibited by the old folks in our families to take any snaps of the kid (they have a supersition that it would rob the charm from the kid's face.. don't laugh). Now since that restriction was over after the first 40 days (don't ask me about this calculation of first 40 days :) ), we have never stopped taking his snaps since then.

The guy is smiling!! :)

Do you see the big mole below his chin!!

Hmm.. I don't know what this look means
